ASTROS BENCHES CLEAR FOR SECOND TIME THIS YEAR

Houston, we have a problem. The Astros have once again broken protocol by having players leave the bench and dugout. The ‘Stros were down 6-2 in the bottom of the seventh when Ramón Laureano reached first after being hit by a pitch. He appeared to get into an argument with an Astros hitting coach, Alex Cintron. Although no one has stated what was said between the two, it is apparent that Cintron motioned for Laureano to come towards him.

The A’s center fielder did just that, when he charged towards the dugout. Of course this caused the benches to clear. No punches were thrown but it was clear no one was worried about social distancing during the incident. Laureano was tackled by an Astros player, who said he did that to keep a brawl from happening.

While no one knows for sure who will be punished and how severely, it is obvious that there will be suspensions. Laureano is sure to get one, and one would hope that Cintron would be suspended for potentially starting and playing a large role in the skirmish.
