AVALANCHE RE-SIGN TYSON JOST

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed forward Tyson Jost, after he accepted the team's qualifying offer of a one-year, one-way contract worth $874,125.



Jost, 22, was drafted in the first round, 10th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2016 NHL entry draft. In 208 regular season games, he's put up 72 points (32 G, 40 A), 62 penalty minutes, and is a -6. In 30 career playoff games, Jost has 6 points (4 G, 2 A), 8 penalty minutes, and is a +/-0.

Prior to signing with the Avalanche, Jost spent the 2016-17 season with the University of North Dakota (NCAA). In 33 games, he had 35 points (16 G, 19 A), 44 penalty minutes, and was a +17.

In his draft year, and a couple years before that, he played for the Penticton Vees of the BCHL. He was named captain during the 2015-16 season, where he had an incredible year statistically. In 48 games, Jost recorded 104 points (42 G, 62 A), and 43 penalty minutes.



Internationally, Jost has represented Canada on multiple occasions, most recently at the 2019 IIHF Men's World Hockey Championships. In 8 games, he had 2 points (2 A), 0 penalty minutes, and was a +4 as Canada finished second after losing to Finland in the gold medal game.
