BARRY TROTZ 'PISSED OFF' AT HIS TEAM; PROMISES CHANGES ARE COMING

New York Islanders head coach Barry Trotz has a reputation for being a competitive guy and a demanding coach, but you truly cannot argue with his success to date in the National Hockey League. His methods have historically brought the best out of his players - however, this season, things seems to be just a little bit off for Trotz and, for him, it's simply not going to cut it.

"It's playoff mentality right now and I'm not sure we have our playoff mentality yet," Trotz told Arthur Staple of The Athletic, following Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. "And it's pissing me off."

Trotz, who won a Stanley Cup as the head coach of the Caps in 2018, prior to coming over to Long Island as a free agent signing that same summer, confirmed that lineup changes are coming for the Isles in an attempt to spark some chemistry and find some success after getting off to a mediocre 3-3-0 start.

"We need more. I just felt we had one line," Trotz said, during the postgame media scrum. "That's all I felt like I had tonight and that's a couple games in a row here, so we're going to shake it up and put some new people in and go from there."

If there's anyone who can turn the fortunes of the Isles around, it's Trotz - as he's shown the ability to do so in the past. However, I'm sure that practice sessions are not going to be very fun for the club with a pissed off Trotz holding the whistle.
