BLACKHAWKS HEAD COACH JEREMY COLLITON GIVES UPDATE ON BOQVIST AND DEBRINCAT

On Tuesday, Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton gave an update on when we might see Adam Boqvist and Alex DeBrincat back on the ice. The pair will miss at least two weeks and then the team will "go from there", per Colliton.

"We're doing the best we can," Colliton said after Tuesday's practice. "I think everyone is, but this is the world we're living in right now. We're not in a bubble, so it's hard. It would've been naïve to think that it wouldn't touch us at some point, but we have to make the best of it."

"Across the league, we're understanding that things are delicate and we have to do everything we can to try to limit the spread, keep it out to begin with," Colliton said. "And if it does get inside your walls, do everything you can to stop it from spreading. But we're not going to know. It's day by day, try to do the right things. Then we get the testing done, tests come in and we make a plan from there."

Adam Boqvist and Alex DeBrincat were placed on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list on Monday, which was a huge blow to a Blackhawks team already without Jonathan Toews, Brent Seabrook, Alexander Nylander, and Kirby Dach due to injuries.

Boqvist, 20, was drafted in the first round, 8th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. In 47 regular season games, he's tallied 16 points (4 G, 12 A), 10 penalty minutes, and is a -4. In 8 career playoff games, he has no points, 4 penalty minutes, and is a -5.

DeBrincat, 23, was drafted in the second round, 39th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. In 240 regular season games, he's recorded 179 points (89 G, 90 A), 38 penalty minutes, and is a -5. In 9 career playoff games, he has 6 points (4 G, 2 A), 9 penalty minutes, and is a +4.
