The St. Louis Blues announced on Tuesday that defenceman Carl Gunnarsson will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season after suffering an injury to his right knee on Monday night against the Los Angeles Kings. He left the game and did not return.
"That's a guy that has laid it on the line for this organization for a long time," Brayden Schenn said following Monday's game. "He's a hell of a teammate and a good guy. The guy is an absolute warrior. It's tough to see."
According to the Blues press release, "Gunnarsson is currently undergoing further orthopedic evaluation and imaging to determine the full extent of the injury."
In 12 games this season, Gunnarsson has recorded 2 points (2 A), 6 penalty minutes, and is a -2.
