BRADEN HOLTBY STUCK AT CANADIAN-U.S. BORDER BECAUSE OF TORTOISES

Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get and stranger. Braden Holtby, the former Washington goaltender who signed with the Vancouver Canucks as a free agent in October, is reportedly stuck at the Canadian-U.S. border because he doesn't have the proper paperwork for his pet tortoises.

Holtby's wife, Brandi, sent out a Tweet Wednesday asking if anyone had any connections with Federal Fish and Wildlife that could help push some paperwork through. Holtby, who is on his way to Vancouver to prepare for the upcoming hockey season (whenever it might begin) was not aware he needed an export permit for the American side of the border. Brandi explained that the import permit for the Canadian side had already been filled out.

As far as well can tell, the situation has not yet been resolved and Holtby remains in limbo at the border until things can get resolved. Travelling over international borders with pets, especially exotic ones, can definitely be a pain. Best of luck Braden and tortoises!
