COREY PERRY CASHES IN WITH DALLAS WIN

Following a 3-2 overtime win in game five of the Western Conference Final, the Dallas Stars have eliminated the Vegas Golden Knight and are moving on to the Stanley Cup final. For the Stars' Corey Perry, that means an added payday.

Perry signed a one-year deal with Dallas after being bought out of an eight-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks with two seasons left. The average annual value of the deal with Dallas is $3.25 million due to some bonuses included in the contract. Perry has now earned at least one of those bonuses.

As per CapFriendly, "As a result of the Dallas Stars moving on to the Stanley Cup final, forward Corey Perry will get a $100,000 bonus. He can also earn another $150,000 bonus if Dallas wins the Stanley Cup."

Not bad at all. That said, with the latest payout to Perry, Dallas' 2020-21 bonus overage penalty is now up to $3,047,866, meaning the Stars will have that much less than the cap of $81.5 million to spend next season.

Still, should it bring the team the Cup, it will all be worth it. Dallas now has to wait to see who wins the series between the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning to find out who they'll be facing in the final. The Lightning can end it Tuesday night with a win in game five.
