DEVON LEVI STILL FEELING EFFECTS OF INJURY SUFFERED AT WJC, WILL MISS SIGNIFICANT TIME

Florida Panthers goaltending prospect Devon Levi apparently suffered an upper-body injury at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. He played through the pain, as most hockey players would, but it seems that playing through the injury will produce more problems for the 19-year-old.

The freshman at Northeastern University returned to campus after recording three shutouts and winning a silver medal with Canada at the WJC, but Northeastern's head coach Jim Madigan states that Levi will miss more time than what was originally anticipated. The team could be without Levi for up to six more weeks, which would be a huge blow.

The injury went unidentified at the tournament, and worsened as Levi continued to play through the pain.

Levi was drafted in the 7th round (212th overall) in the 2020 NHL Draft. He joined Spencer Knight as another top-end goalie prospect for the Florida Panthers.
