EAST DIVISION TEAM 'HEAVILY' PURSUING RFA FORWARD JACK ROSLOVIC

In early January, it was stated through his agent Claude Lemieux that RFA forward Jack Roslovic is currently in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio awaiting either a trade or a new contract from the Winnipeg Jets. Roslovic has also reportedly asked for a trade, and it appears the Jets may have found a suitor.

In his weekly Hockey Night in Canada segment "Saturday Headlines", insider Elliotte Friedman reported that the Pittsburgh Penguins have shown serious interest in the 23-year-old forward.

"Jack Roslovic is unsigned, he's asked for a trade, he's not with the Jets," Friedman said. "The Pittsburgh Penguins have started the season 0-2 and we know [GM] Jim Rutherford is not afraid. I also believe they're one of the teams who's very interested. We'll see if there's a match."

The Penguins were in action on Sunday afternoon and defeated the Washington Capitals in a shootout to improve to 1-2 on the season.

Roslovic, 23, was drafted in the first round, 25th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In 180 regular season games, he's put up 67 points (26 G, 41 A), 18 penalty minutes, and is a +6. In 20 career playoff games, he has 5 points (5 A), 2 penalty minutes, and is a +4.

Internationally, Roslovic has represented the United States on a few occasions, most recently at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. In 7 games, he had 2 points (2 A), 4 penalty minutes, and was a +1 as the United States won the Gold by defeating Canada in a shootout in the Final.
