EKMAN-LARSSON TO MISS UP TO A MONTH OF ACTION

The Arizona Coyotes will be without their captain and one of their best players for the next while. That's according to Jose Romero of AZ Central , who says Ekman-Larsson will be on the sidelines for the next three-to-four weeks.

You pencil him in every night for 20-plus (minutes). He's a power play guy, he's a penalty kill guy. He's a big chunk of our team," Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said. "We always talk about the old cliché 'next man up.' Well, we're going to need five, six men up on defense to help us out."

Ekman-Larsson was hurt on a play involving the San Jose Sharks Evander Kane Saturday night. He left the game and did not return.

Kane was given a high-sticking minor on the play.

Kyle Capobianco, who tallied 10 goals and 27 assists for AHL Tucson last season and made the 23-man Coyotes roster out of training camp, is expected to take Ekman-Larsson's place in the lineup. He was a healthy scratch the first two games of the season.

"Every player wants a chance. Well, here it is, so let's see what you've got. Let's make the most of the opportunity when things like this happen," Tocchet said of Capobianco. "He can add that offensive defenseman with a great shot. He's got a great one-timer. Really good at breakout passes and he can join the rush."
