
FOUR PLAYERS CLAIMED OFF WAIVERS TUESDAY
Over 130 players were placed on waivers Monday, but despite the abundance of names available, just four of those players have found new homes. On Tuesday, Lucas Sbisa, Eric Comrie, Rudolfs Balcers, and Anton Forsberg were claimed.
Sbisa will be going to Nashville from Winnipeg. The 30-year-old has spent parts of twelve seasons in the NHL with Philadelphia, Anaheim, Vancouver, Vegas, New York (I), and Winnipeg. In 548 regular season games, he has 113 points (20 G, 93 A), 385 penalty minutes, and is a -18. In 32 career playoff games, he's put up 8 points (1 G, 7 A), 34 penalty minutes, and is a -5.
Comrie will be going to New Jersey from Winnipeg. In 8 NHL games with the Jets, he has a record of 2 wins, 5 losses, a 4.23 G.A.A., and an .868 save percentage
Balcers is going to San Jose from Ottawa. The Liepaja, Latvia native has suited up in 51 games for Ottawa over the last two seasons. He has 17 points (6 G, 11 A), 10 penalty minutes, and is a -9 in those 51 games. Balcers was originally drafted by San Jose in 2015, but was traded to Ottawa in September 2018 in a deal that saw Erik Karlsson join the Sharks.
Forsberg is heading back to Carolina from Edmonton. He's spent parts of six seasons in the league playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, and Carolina Hurricanes. In 48 career games, he has a record of 12 wins, 24 losses, 4 overtime/shootout losses, a 3.22 G.A.A., and a .901 save percentage.
Two players, Leo Komarov (NYI) and Alex Nedeljkovic (CAR) were also placed on the waiver wire on Tuesday as teams continue to finalize their rosters which have to be submitted to the NHL by 5pm.
Komarov, 33, has spent parts of seven seasons in the NHL with Toronto and New York (I). In 457 regular season games, he's tallied 162 points (62 G, 100 A), 190 penalty minutes, and is a +13. In 40 career playoff games, he has 6 points (2 G, 4 A), 31 penalty minutes, and is a +/-0.
Nedeljkovic, 25, was appeared in 6 career games for Carolina, putting up a record of 2 wins, 2 losses, 1 overtime/shootout loss, a 2.55 G.A.A., and a .907 save percentage.
In other roster news, the Montreal Canadiens announced their Taxi Squad to start the 2020-21 season. It will consist of forwards: Corey Perry, Michael Frolik, and Ryan Poehling, defenceman: Cale Fleury, and goaltender: Charlie Lindgren.
