GOLDEN KNIGHTS SIGN DEFENCEMAN TO AHL CONTRACT

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenceman Ryan Murphy to an AHL contract. We have not received the full details as of yet.

Murphy is 27 years of age and spent last season in the KHL with the Neftikhemik Nizhnekamsk. He scored 23 points in 56 games.



Murphy was drafted 12th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2011. He has since played for the Minnesota Wild and the New Jersey Devils. He has gone in between the NHL and the AHL.

Murphy has scored 8 goals and 43 points in the NHL. He also had 3 points in 6 games in the 2013 World Juniors.

Murphy is set to begin the season on the new affiliate for the Golden Knights; the Henderson Silver Knights
