ISLANDERS LOSE TWO PLAYERS FOR REMAINDER OF PLAYOFFS

The New York Islanders will be without two forwards due to injury for the remainder of the playoffs. Both Casey Cizikas and Tom Kuhnhackl have left the bubble and will not return. The team will not give any updates on the players until the conclusion of the playoffs.

Cizikas played in 48 games during the regular season, scoring 10 goals and adding 4 assists. In 18 games during the postseason, he recorded just 2 assists, but he did add a physical presence that the Islanders will surely miss.

As for Kuhnhackl, he appeared in just 28 games during the regular season, tallying 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists). During the playoffs he was basically nonexistent, playing in just 3 games. He only recorded an assist and did not score a goal in his 3 games played. He has not played since Game 3 of the qualifying round versus the Florida Panthers.

Losing Cizikas is a big hit on New York, as his line with Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck usually sets the forecheck for the game.

The Islanders are currently down 2-1 in the best of 7 series versus the Lightning.
