JEREMY COLLITON GETS EXTENSION WITH CHICAGO

If you're a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, but not a fan of the team's current head coach, we have some bad news. Jeremy Colliton has received a two-year extension with Chicago.

Colliton was named the Blackhawks' 38th head coach following the dismissal of Joel Quenneville in November of 2018. Before that, he had served as the head coach of the AHL's Rockford IceHogs. At the time of his hiring by Chicago, Colliton was the youngest active head coach in the NHL.

"Jeremy has shown an innate ability to develop young talent throughout his two seasons as head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks," said Stan Bowman, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager. "This, coupled with his vast knowledge of the game, exceptional communication skills and determination to win, makes us extremely confident Jeremy has what it takes to lead our team back to an elite level as we continue to build a roster that can compete year in and year out."

In 137 games since taking over the Blackhawks, Colliton has a record of 62-58-17. It is likely to be a tough year for the team after losing both Robin Lehner and Corey Crawford in net, as well as long-term injuries to Jonathan Toews and Kirby Dach.
