KHL GAME CANCELLED AFTER MULTIPLE POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES

A KHL game that was supposed to take place Wednesday night between Kunlun Red Star and Jokerit has been cancelled after several of Kunlun Red Star representatives tested positive for COVID-19, the league announced.

The league mentioned that due to Finnish regulations, the two teams cannot play tonight as a result of the positive tests. They have yet to decide whether or not they will reschedule the game for a later date. Unfortunately, this is one of many problems that can occur during these difficult times as a result of the pandemic. While many leagues including the NHL have decided to delay their season, the same issues will likely face them whenever they do begin play.

The KHL is roughly 30 games into their 2020-21 season already, with Kunlun having played 25 games. However, Jokerit has played in far fewer than all other teams throughout the league with only 19. Despite that, they still sit in 18th place with an 11-7-1 record, while Kunlun is second last in the entire league with a record of 5-18-2.
