LINUS ULLMARK, SABRES AVOID ARBITRATION WITH NEW CONTRACT

Goaltender Linus Ullmark will be remaining with the Buffalo Sabres for at least one more year. The two sides have agreed to a one-year contract worth $2.6 million, avoiding a previously scheduled arbitration hearing that was set to take place this week,

Ullmark, 27, had a 17-14-3 record in 34 starts in 2019-20, setting a new career-high in wins. He had a 2.69 goals-against average and .915 save percentage. He will be an unrestricted free agent after his new contract expires. Ullmark was asking for $4.1 million in arbitration while the Sabres were going into the hearing with a $1.8 million offer.

The Sabres also managed to avoid arbitration with forward Sam Reinhart, signing the 24-year-old to a one-year deal with $5.2 million. Buffalo still needs to reach agreements with restricted free agents Victor Olofsson and Lawrence Pilut.
