NHL FACES ITS FIRST IN-SEASON POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2020-21 SEASON

This was to be expected as the NHL is not playing within a bubble for the 2020-21 season. Pierre Lebrun of TSN was the first to break the new that the Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators game scheduled for Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena has been postponed. The reason given is that there is a COVID situation within the Hurricanes roster.

If this situation is anything like Dallas', expect more games to be postponed. The Hurricanes were scheduled to head back home for six straight starting on Thursday. Two games against Florida (Jan 21st/23rd), against Tampa Bay (Jan 26th/28th), and against Dallas (Jan 30th/31st). This postponement marks the first in-season one for this year. Dallas had games pushed back before the season got officially underway.

Since LeBrun's statement, the Nashville Predators have released on of their own.

"The National Hockey League today announced that Game #52, Carolina Hurricanes at Nashville Predators, scheduled for tonight, has been postponed. The rescheduled date of Game #52 will be announced when available."

"The decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts," said the team.
