NHL REPORTS 6TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK WITH NO POSITIVE CORONAVIRUS CASES

Today, the NHL announced that for a 6th consecutive week, there has been no positive coronavirus cases within either bubble in Toronto and Edmonton. The news comes as the NHL bubble shrinks to one city, since Edmonton plays host to both the Eastern and Western Conference Finals.

The NHL administered 2,534 COVID-19 tests between the dates of August 30th and September 5th to all 52 members of each team's travelling party. Players, and staff are tested on a daily basis.

This is great news for the NHL, 6 weeks since the start of exhibition games, they have made it all the way to the Conference Finals without a single positive case. Of course as the bubble gets smaller, there is a lesser risk of contracting the virus, but it is still amazing to see the NHL be able to pull off this 24-team playoff without having a single case of COVID-19.

The next update will come from the NHL on September 14th, as they release their weekly update every Monday.
