NEW YORK RANGERS WIN BIG IN DRAFT LOTTERY

Following what seemed like the longest introduction to an NHL Draft Lottery in recent memory, the New York Rangers have secured the first overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

The first pick win, which adds to their already impressive Draft Lottery luck over the last ten years, will almost certainly yield them the right to dress the essentially unanimous choice, Alexis Lafreniere, in the blue, white and red.

While this is the first time since 1965 that the Rangers have had the first overall pick, they’ve seen good fortune over the last few years, winning the second overall pick last year, and the ninth and seventh overall picks in the years preceding that.

Given an already growing and impressive lineup, including superstar forward Artemi Panarin, as well as young and skillful goaltending, the addition of a rookie star like Lafreniere could make the Rangers a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
