NICK SEELER LEAVING THE BLACKHAWKS ORGANIZATION

Defenceman Nick Seeler and the Chicago Blackhawks are parting ways. The team has put the 27-year-old on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Whether this is a mutual parting of ways or initiated by one of the two sides is not known. This is the last year of Seeler's current contract with the Blackhawks. He was set to make $725,000. Seeler was initially drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the fifth round (131st overall) in 2011. He played a total of 111 games in the NHL, most with the Wild. He played six games with the Blackhawks last season, recording one assist.
