NO SUPPLEMENTARY DISCIPLINE FOR PIERRE-LUC DUBOIS

There were some scary moments in game 2 of the Toronto Maple Leafs - Columbus Blue Jackets series Tuesday after defenceman Jake Muzzin went to the ice awkwardly following a crosscheck from Pierre Luc Dubois. Muzzin would eventually be removed from the ice on a stretcher. The latest update said he is able to move all of his extremities and appears to be doing fine.

While there was no penalty on the play, many wondered whether the NHL's Department of Player Safety might step in given the injury to Muzzin. According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, it will not.

"Pierre-Luc Dubois won't face any supplementary discipline for his cross-check on Jake Muzzin yesterday," Tweeted Johnston. "Viewed as a freak play that had a terrible outcome."

The Blue Jackets expressed deep concern for Muzzin following the loss to Toronto. The series is now tied at one game apiece.
