ONE OF HALL'S FORMER TEAMS REPORTEDLY PUSHING TO BRING HIM BACK FOR PLAYOFF RUN

The Taylor Hall sweepstakes seem to be taking another interesting turn as now one of his former teams are in on acquiring him. In fact the team in on him is the team that drafted him first overall back in the 2010 NHL Draft, the Edmonton Oilers.

According to former NHL general manager Doug MacLean, the Oilers are expressing interest in the 29-year old forward. MacLean was talking to CHED radio host Reid Wilkins, passing on some trade rumblings regarding the Oilers and Hall.

"I also heard yesterday they're in on the guy from Buffalo that everybody wants: Taylor Hall. I'm thinking: How is that going to work. How could Taylor Hall go there on a deal? The guy told me they're looking at a deal that would have them both done for less than $12 million for both of them (Hall and Nugent Hopkins), and it would work next yearIt was a reasonable source that said it."

"We'll see if there's anything to it. As they say in P.E.I., I'm not telling you it's the truth, I'm just telling you what I heard."

It is reasonable for the Oilers to try and go after another top-six winger to pair with McDavid, but is Hall really the answer? He carries a hefty cap hit this year at $8 million, but his speed paired with McDavid's other-worldly skating abilities would be fun to watch and could possibly lead to an unstoppable duo.
