Q LEAGUE PLAYER KO'D BY BIG HIT (W/VIDEO)
This one can be a bit tough to watch! Wednesday, during a game in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League between the Quebec Remparts and the Drummondville Voltigeurs, Remparts player Hugo Audette took a shot on goal in front of the net and was met with a huge hit by Maveric Lamoureux of the Voltigeurs. It's worth noting there is a big size difference between these two players. Audette is around five-foot-eight and 145 lbs, while Lamoureux is six-foot-five and 181 lbs. Check it out:
There was no call on the play, which has created quite a bit of debate on social media on whether the hit was clean. It appears Lamoureux catches Audette's head with his shoulder. However, given the big height difference, he probably didn't have a lot of choice. Here's another look in slow motion:
Audette would eventually leave the ice with the help of his teammates:
Drummondville would go on to win the game 7-5.
