RANGERS CANCEL PRACTICE FOR A GOOD REASON
Apr 7, 2021 à 13h41 COOPER GODIN
Throughout the 2020-21 season, many teams across the NHL have cancelled practices due to COVID-19 protocols. On Wednesday, the New York Rangers cancelled their practice, for a good reason relating to COVID-19.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Tuesday that anyone 16 years of age and older is now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. According to Larry Brooks of The New York Post, the Rangers decided to take Wednesday off, and get their vaccine.

In a statement, the Rangers organization said: "With the COVID-19 vaccine now extended to anyone over 16, we're excited that many of our players and staff opted to get vaccinated. We applaud New York's efforts to expand eligibility and encourage our fans to get vaccinated."

As the vaccine continues to roll out across the United States, it's only a matter of time before arenas are filled to the rafters again. US President Joe Biden announced that every single person in the country aged 16 and older will be eligible to receive their first dose by April 19th. Once a large portion of the population is vaccinated, everything will hopefully return to a sense of normalcy, such as arenas being full, at least in the United States that is. Canada lags way behind the US in doses given, and it will be a while before any fans return to arenas north of the border.
