RANGERS FORWARD FILIP CHYTIL TO MISS SIGNIFICANT TIME WITH INJURY
The New York Rangers announced on Tuesday that forward Filip Chytil will miss the next four to six weeks with an upper-body injury. Chytil sustained the injury following a hit from Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues in Sunday's 3-2 loss.
Before getting hurt, Chytil provided a highlight reel goal, pulling off the "Forsberg" move against Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry.
Chytil, 21, was drafted in the first round, 21st overall by the New York Rangers in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He's off to a good start this season, recording 3 points (2 G, 1 A) in 5 games.
In 149 regular season games, he's tallied 52 points (28 G, 24 A), 22 penalty minutes, and is a -31. In 3 career playoff games, Chytil has no points, 2 penalty minutes, and is a -1.
Internationally, Chytil has represented the Czech Republic on multiple occasions, most recently at the 2019 IIHF World Hockey Championships. In 5 games, he had 2 points (1 G, 1 A), 2 penalty minutes, and was a +4, as the Czech Republic finished fourth following a loss to Russia in the Bronze Medal Game.
