RANGERS STAR FORWARD LATE TO CAMP DUE TO POSITIVE COVID TEST

Speaking with media on Monday, New York Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad said he was delayed starting camp due to testing positive for COVID-19.

Thankfully, he is now fully recovered and feeling 100 per cent to start the season. This is great news for the Rangers, as the 27-year-old Swedish forward had a monster 2019-20 season scoring a career high 41 goals and 75 points despite playing in only 57 games. He will have a big role on a Rangers team that is expected to do big things this year given their offensive talent thanks to players like himself, Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome, and 2020 first overall pick Alexis Lafreniere.

It took Zibanejad, who was drafted sixth overall in 2011, some time to turn into the elite offensive forward he is now. After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Senators, he was traded to the Rangers where his true offensive potential has come to life. In 548 career games, he has 176 goals and 384 points.
