SENATORS AND BRUINS SIGN DEPTH PLAYERS

The Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins have signed some depth players today to help bolster their rosters for the 2020-21 season whenever it may begin.

First, the Senators have signed forward Nick Paul to a two-year contract worth $2.7 million ($1.35 million AAV). Paul, 25, was drafted in the fourth round, 101st overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2013 NHL entry draft. He was traded to Ottawa in a deal that sent Jason Spezza to Dallas.

In 112 regular season games, Paul has 28 points (13 G, 15 A), 35 penalty minutes, and is a -19.



The Boston Bruins announced the signing of a trio of players. Defenceman Jakub Zboril, forward Greg McKegg, and goaltender Callum Booth were all signed today.

Zboril was signed to a 2-year contract worth $1.45 million ($725k AAV). He was drafted in the first round, 13th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL entry draft. In 2 career NHL games, he's recorded no points, no penalty minutes, and is a +/-0. He's currently playing with Brno Kometa of the Czech Extraliga on loan until the start of the 2020-21 NHL season.

McKegg, 28, was signed to a one-year contract worth $700,000. He was drafted in the third round, 62nd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL entry draft. In 185 regular season games, he has 33 points (18 G, 15 A), 57 penalty minutes, and is a -10. In 18 career playoff games, McKegg has 2 points (2 G), 8 penalty minutes and is a -2. He played with the New York Rangers during the 2019-20 season.



Booth, 23, was signed to a one-year contract worth $700,000. He was drafted in the fourth round, 93rd overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL entry draft. He split time between the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, Atlanta Gladiators and Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the East Coast Hockey League. In 1 game with Charlotte, he had 1 win, a 2.00 GAA, and a .913 save percentage. In 3 games with Greenville, he had a record of 1 win, 1 loss, a 3.93 GAA, and a .885 save percentage. In 9 games with Atlanta, Booth put up a record of 4 wins, 5 losses, a 3.22 GAA, a 9.11 save percentage, and 1 shutout.
