SENATORS' LINEUP WILL GET A BIG BOOST MONDAY IN VANCOUVER

The Ottawa Senators lineup will get a huge boost on Monday night as German rookie Tim Stutzle will return after missing the last three games with an undisclosed injury.

Senators head coach DJ Smith announced the news on TSN 1200 this morning, adding that Stutzle will start the game on the third line with Connor Brown and Chris Tierney.

Stutzle, 19, was drafted in the first round, third overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In 2 games so far this season, he's recorded 1 goal, 2 penalty minutes, and is a +1.

He spent the 2019-20 season with Adler Mannheim, who play in Germany's top division, the DEL. In 41 games, he had 34 points (7 G, 24 A), 12 penalty minutes, and was a +4. Stutzle was named DEL Rookie of the Year at the end of the season.

Internationally, Stutzle has represented Germany on several occasions, most recently at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships where he was named captain. In 5 games, he had 10 points (5 G, 5 A), 8 penalty minutes, and was a -4 as Germany finished sixth following a loss to Russia in the quarterfinals. For his efforts, Stutzle was named the tournament's Best Forward, and he was named to the tournament All-Star team.

The Senators are hoping Stutzle can add some offense to a lineup that needs it. Ottawa will look to snap their four- game losing streak when they take on the Vancouver Canucks in the lone NHL game on Monday. Puck drop is set for 10pm ET.
