DALLAS STARS WON'T GET BACK TO PRACTICE MONDAY

The Dallas Stars are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak within their organization. The team has not practised since last week. There was some hope the organization would be able to hit the ice again Monday with some players but that's no longer according to an announcement from the Stars.

The Stars were already forced to cancel practice for COVID-19 related reasons on Friday after it was revealed that six players and two staff members tested positive for the virus.

Dallas has already had their season delayed until at least January 19, and it could be delayed even more if they are not able to get the outbreak under control. The team was supposed to begin the season with two road games versus the Florida Panthers on January 14 and 15, and two more road games at Tampa Bay on January 17 and 19.

Other teams around the league, including the Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins, are also dealing with COVID-19 related issues as both of these teams also cancelled team practices on Saturday and Sunday due to possible exposure to the virus. The Columbus Blue Jackets also announced Friday that they would have multiple players missing practice due to the NHL's COVID-19 protocols. However, those teams have since practised or will resume training camps on Monday.

The Stars will be looking to build on their performance from last season after making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, before ultimately losing in six games to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
