THE CARDINALS ARE BACK

Baseball will return to St. Louis in just a short amount of time, but just being able to play again should be a moral victory for the Cardinals. They will play the White Sox in Chicago tomorrow in a doubleheader. They have not played a game in seventeen days, and their starter, Jack Flaherty, has not made a start in 26 days. They will travel to Chicago in 41 rental cars to ensure they do not spread anything, as they are taking every precaution to make sure their season continues the way that they want it to.

The Cardinals made it through five games before having their season postponed, accumulating a record of 2-3. They will be led by their ace, Jack Flaherty. He was the Opening Day starter, going seven innings while giving up two runs and striking out six. Flaherty broke out last season, going 11-8 with a 2.57 ERA. He finished fourth in Cy Young voting and thirteenth in the MVP race. He also struck out 231 batters in 196 innings.

They will be looking to play 53 games in 44 days. This will begin with eight games in the first five days back. This could concern some players and coaches, as the team hasn’t been able to truly practice together. They should also be looking out and be prepared for injuries, as everyone hopes they will be at a minimum. Nonetheless, Cardinals baseball is back.
