TORTORELLA EXPANDS ON HIS CRITICISMS OF DUBOIS, LEBRUN LISTS 12 TEAMS WHO MAY HAVE CHECKED IN

The John Tortorella - Pierre-Luc Dubois standoff moved to the next level on Thursday when the veteran coach benched the young, disgruntled forward following, what Torts calls, eroding play over the course of the first five games of the Blue Jackets' season.

Per NHLdotcom's Dan Rosen, Dubois - who lacked any urgency and intensity on Thursday - was not benched for his play on that night, but rather for a progressively poor rate of play over the course of the team's season, identifying Dubois as the cause of Dubois' lack of ice-time.

On Friday, Tortorella addressed the situation publicly, expanding on his previous comments relating to the ongoing ordeal.

"I will not allow our standard of play and our culture and how we go about our business here to change. We've got to keep on growing because that is how we have survived in this league, in trying to be a better team in this league," Tortorella remarked.

The always-outspoken bench boss would not comment on whether Dubois would be in the Blue Jackets' lineup for Saturday's contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning, offering the information that there is a lot to evaluate besides just Dubois.

TSN's Pierre LeBrun has reported that there is no shortage of suitors who are interested in acquiring the 22-year-old center, identifying no less than 12 teams who he believes may have already kicked tires on Dubois with Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalianen.

LeBrun also added that this deal is more likely to include current NHL players, and that a futures-only deal would not be something that the Blue Jackets would be interested in exploring.

He lists Anaheim, Montreal, Minnesota, Calgary, Ottawa, Winnipeg, NY Rangers, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Washington, Arizona and Detroit as the teams that he believes have checked in on the situation, though he conceded that there may well be more.
