TWO US TEAMS INTERESTED IN HALL, CANADIAN TEAMS SEEM TO BE OUT OF THE RUNNING
Apr 6, 2021 à 20h23 BRENNEN BEAUDIN
With Taylor Hall being scratched from Tuesday's game versus the New Jersey Devils, it seems likely that a trade is on the horizon.
According to analyst Elliotte Friedman, Canadian teams are reportedly out of the running for the 29-year-old. It seems that two United States teams are in talks with Buffalo to try acquire the veteran speedster.
Elliotte Friedman on SN650:
Palmieri was benched not because a trade was close but because contract talks weren't close.
With Hall tonight, sense is something could be close. Doesn't get the sense that it's going to be a Canadian team. Two US teams grinding away with BUF.— J (@Account4hockey) April 6, 2021
Although Hall's production has dipped mightily this season, he still has the skills to help a contender make a deep playoff run. He would vastly improve any team's top-six while also providing a spark in speed that some teams may feel the need for.
One team that would make sense to be involved in the rumors is the New York Islanders as they lost Anders Lee for the rest of the season, but the two US teams interested remain a bit of a question mark.
Hall signed a one-year, $8 million contract in October, but it just has not worked out in Buffalo. He only has 2 goals and 17 assists in 37 games this season playing for the worst team in the NHL. Along with this, Hall has not scored since March 4, marking a 16-game goalless streak.
