VETERAN FORWARD TREVOR LEWIS SECURES ONE-YEAR DEAL
Per NHL journalist David Pagnotta, veteran forward Trevor Lewis will finalize a one-year contract later today with the Winnipeg Jets. While the exact dollar amount is not yet confirmed, Pagnotta said it will be under $1 million.
Lewis, 34, suited up for 56 games with the L.A. Kings this past season. In those 56 games, he scored six goals and 12 points. He was invited to the Jets camp on a PTO, and as Pagnotta mentions, impressed team management and was able to earn himself a new deal. He won't put up many points, but he is a speedy forward who can play a physical role for a team on their fourth line.
Lewis has spent his entire 10-year career with the L.A. Kings. He was a part of both the 2012 and 2014 teams that won Stanley Cups, and played a big role in both, suiting up for every playoff contest in both those years and being a physical presence in the bottom-six. Lewis, who was taken 17th overall at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, has carved out a nice career for himself, scoring 70 goals and 163 points in 674 games.
