The Dallas Stars recalled Stephen Johns from the AHL's Texas Stars on Thursday.

Johns hasn't played in an NHL game since the 2017-18 season due to post-traumatic headaches. He played in his first professional game in almost 22 months last Saturday, where he recorded a goal and three assists in a 5-3 win over the Toronto Marlies.

For now, Johns will remain on the LTIR, but the Athletic's Sean Shapiro says that the 27-year-old could return to the Stars' lineup as early as Saturday, versus the Minnesota Wild.

Johns was selected 60th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, but never played a game for them, and instead spent time with Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. In 2015. he and Patrick Sharp were traded to Dallas for Trevor Daley and Ryan Garbutt.

In 150 NHL games, Johns has 13 goals, 28 points, and 83 penalty minutes. He has also added 13 goals, 62 points, and 98 penalty minutes in 118 AHL games.
