With Muzzin ready to get back in the lineup, the purpose of his AHL assignment is a conditioning stint while the Maple Leafs are on break due to the All-Star Game. The Marlies have two games this weekend and it's likely Muzzin will see action in one, or both, before returning to the Leafs lineup.

Muzzin has played in 38 games this season, recording three goals and 10 assists for 13 points. The Maple Leafs' next game is Monday, January 27th. It's highly likely Muzzin will return for that game, provided everything goes well with the Marlies.
