Duncan, who is the son of former NHLer Iain Duncan, intentionally fired a slapshot at the Carolina Thunderbirds' bench while his team was trailing 7-2. Although he appeared to try claiming it was an accident, players for the Thunderbirds were clearly not buying it as they all rushed at Duncan. Three members of the Thunderbirds were also suspended for the melee that broke out following Duncan's shot at the bench. Konner Haas and Jan Salak were each given a game while teammate Michael Bunn received a five-game ban. Duncan's teammate on the Ice Breakers, Blake Naida, will also sit for a game.

Duncan has seven goals and 21 points in 33 games this season, along with 109 penalty minutes. His father, Iian, played 127 games in the NHL, all for the Winnipeg Jets, in the late 1980s and early 1990s. You can view the incident and the ensuring fights below.
