Brad Marchand sounds off on Ryan Lindgren

The Boston Bruins were able to escape Madison Square Garden with a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers Sunday afternoon. Despite his team coming out with two big points, Bruins forward Brad Marchand did not appear to be in a pleasant mood, voicing his displeasure with Rangers defenceman Ryan Lindgren.

“He’s not going to be a player there that’s going to have a very long career. I’m not overly concerned with him,” Marchand said.

When asked further, Marchand wouldn’t elaborate on exactly what it was that set him off. The entire game was quite chippy, with one play in particular resulting in a scrum that seen Marchand deliver a cross check to Lindgren, only to have the favour returned to him just a second later by Pavel Buchnevich.

Regardless of exactly what made him say this, it’s nothing new for Marchand. Not only is he a well-known player for his high skill level, he is also arguably the biggest pest in the league. Whether it is dirty plays, or remarks such as this to the media, he certainly has a way of getting under many hockey fans' skin.

As for the game itself, Marchand registered one assist, which puts him up to an outstanding 74 points in 60 games. He and his teammates will look to build on their current three game win streak Wednesday night, when they head to Alberta to take on the Edmonton Oilers.
