Scottie Upshall calls it a career

Monday's trade deadline coverage on TSN is generally known for long period of lulls with a couple of trades mixed within. But, it is Scottie Upshall who was brought on as a special analyst for the day who has already made one of the bigger splashes. While discussing his 2019 Spengler Cup championship with Team Canada, Upshall announced that he was going to officially retire from professional hockey.

Immediately following the announcement from Upshall, reactions began pouring in all accross Twitter. With former NHL defenceman and current host of the Barstool Sports podcast "Spittin Chiclets" Ryan Whitney sharing his thoughts on the retirement of the 16-year NHL veteran.





Upshall played 759 games with six different NHL franchises with 138 goals and 285 points. This season the former first round pick played with Ambr-Piotta of the Swiss-A league, scoring 4 goals and 7 points through 12 games.
