SABRES SIGN BRANDON BIRO TO ENTRY-LEVEL DEAL
COLTON PANKIW March 18, 2020 |
The Buffalo Sabres have signed collegiate forward Brandon Biro to a two-year, entry-level contract. The announcement officially came from the team earlier this morning.
Despite being undrafted, Biro has some ties to the Sabres organization. He attended their development camp as a 20-year-old back in June 2018.
“Brandon will bring a combination of skill, hockey sense and character to our organization,” said Sabres general manager Jason Botterill. “We’re confident that his four years at Penn State with Coach Gadowsky have prepared him well for the next phase of his development.”
The 22-year-old forward played his past four seasons for Penn State University. He put up 25 points in 25 games this season, while also serving as the team’s captain. His college career was extremely successful, as he finishes in the top 10 for goals (T-8th), assists (3rd), and points (4th). He also helped his team win the Big Ten championship as a freshman back in 2016-17.
