CAROLINA HURRICANES HAVE A BLAST ON TWITTER; POKE FUN AT MAPLE LEAFS
JOE DE FALCO March 18, 2020 |
With a full hockey-less week behind us, the Carolina Hurricanes took to Twitter on Wednesday, in efforts to help raise spirits.
The Canes sent out a tweet, offering ‘extra kindness’ to a hockey world that absolutely needs it right now;
They then proceeded to list off the 30 other teams in the league, sending out tweets to each one. Some humorous, some heartfelt — including referring to the Philadelphia Flyers support of teammate Oskar Lindblom as ‘inspiring.’
As they went down the list of teams, it seems the Hurricanes organization just couldn’t help themselves, poking fun at the Toronto Maple Leafs, referencing that the arena staff at Scotiabank Arena goes ‘above and beyond.’
Clearly, a friendly jab regarding Emergency Back Up Goaltender David Ayers, the 42-year old Maple Leafs organization zamboni driver, who helped the Hurricanes to a 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs on February 22nd.
All in good fun, the Hurricanes would make jokes with multiple teams around the league, trying to keep fans entertained as we enter through a second week of no hockey, amidst the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
