One week into self isolation without any major league sports being played can quickly begin to feel like it's been a couple of months.

Very quickly a week without games has turned sports fans into desperate beings looking to get their sports fix. Many fans and even athletes have turned to sports video games to try and simulate the games they miss.

They have become very creative in trying to replicate their lost form of entertainment. Now, it is the stations themselves that are mixing things up to provide their fans, with the sports they love.

Canadian sports channels TSN and Sportsnet teamed up Friday to start airing the Toronto Raptors 2019 championship run. With game one of the first round airing Friday, and the championship clincher scheduled for April 12, Raptors fans get to re-live the magic they witnessed last spring.

For American fans, the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL have all made their game passes free for fans to entertain themselves.

As much as all of the Major leagues are airing these games to be able to have something running on their channels and stay relevant in their fans minds, they also fulfill a bigger need. Fans starving for any kind of fresh sports content can enjoy the games, and look back at some of the big moments in the history, that get quickly forgotten.

More importantly, the re-airing of these games helps to bring fans back to a sense of routine. With everyone living in unprecedented times, sitting apart from one another while watching sports is a comfort that is needed in a moment like this.

Sitting down on the couch for a Saturday night of watching Hockey Night in Canada with family and friends.

Watching Monday night football with family, cheering for the same team they have for decades.

Or going back and forth between Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers games to try and settle who is better between Jordan, Kobe and LeBron.

It has been 10 days since the NBA, NHL and MLB all shut their doors to limit spreading COVID-19 and it will be many more before they are fully re-opened.

The re-airing and new availability of these classic games helps fans re-live some of their teams greatest moments in history. While also helping to give a sense of normalcy and comfort that many people need at a time like this.
