MLB PLAYERS WEIGH IN ON PROPOSED ARIZONA BASED SEASON

It is the beginning of April, and MLB players just want to play baseball. If only it was as simple as that.

Twenty-six days after the MLB suspended spring training and regular season, a new plan has been released that would involve the entire MLB season being hosted in Arizona without fans in attendance.

Fans have had a day to mull over how they would enjoy that kind of baseball, now the players are weighing in.

Nolan Arenado, The Colorado Rockies All-Star third baseman voiced his conditional support for the reported plan on Tuesday.

"If it's safe, I'm in," Arenado said, according to Patrick Saunders from The Denver Post. "I believe these ideas wouldn't be thrown around if it wasn't approved or (can't) be (approved). I want to get back out there and play."

He is not the only major leaguer who has voiced support for the idea. New York Yankees reliever Adam Ottavino is interested in the idea, but has also admitted that it seems like a long shot to happen.

"I don't have any good insight but I would be in the camp of supporting the idea," Ottavino said, according to Joel Sherman of The New York Post. "I'm sure a lot would have to go right for it to actually happen, but I'm hoping it can work because I want to play."

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader shared the same opinion on Twitter, while mixing in a little humour.

There are some players who are not as interested in the idea. But would still play if the plan came to fruition.

An anonymous New York Mets player told The New York Post, "It's the desert, stuff doesn't live there, it dies there."

"I just want to play baseball," Chicago White Sox Eloy Jimenez said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "If they decide to play here (in Arizona), I'm going to enjoy it, but we want to play a normal regular season, like travel and all that. And play for our city, you know?"

There are many steps and days in the way before this scenario can even get off the ground. The MLB confirmed Tuesday that a fixed site was only one of the many contingencies the league and the players' association are discussing.
