LOS ANGELES MANAGER ROBERTS DISCUSSES BETT'S FUTURE IN DODGER BLUE

This off-season, the Dodgers pulled off a blockbuster trade in February, acquiring Mookie Betts and David Price from the Boston Red Sox. Now with the season postponed and potentially cancelled with COVID-19, there is a chance Betts will never even suit up for the Dodgers.

So far, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts does not appear fazed by the possibility during a recent interview on "The Sedano Show."

"I think him being in spring training with us - the relationship I have with him, personally, and I think some players, too, and coaches, it feels like he's already played a season with us," the manager said.

Betts is scheduled to enter free agency for the first time this next offseason and has played well enough to request a major contract in the process.

Before baseball went on hiatus, Betts appeared in just eight spring games with his new team. Betts finished with a .301 batting average across six seasons with the Red Sox, which included four All-Star appearances, four Gold Gloves and a World Series in 2018.

The Dodgers have a busy off-season ahead, with potentially eight starters heading to free agency.

"Mookie's gotta do what's best for him and his family once that time does present itself, but I know that he loves being a Dodger."
