IAN COLE READY FOR HIS THIRD STANLEY CUP WIN

Ian Cole, Colorado Avalanche defenseman, is ready for the NHL to resume its season. He is confident that he has a good chance at winning the Stanley Cup for the third time.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to win two Stanley Cups,” Cole said, “but there’s nothing more I want to do than win a third one, and then a fourth one, and then a fifth one. I think a lot of guys on this team mimic that.”

Before the NHL paused the 2019-20 season on March 12, the Avalanche were second in the Central Division (42-20-8). They were two points behind the Cup’s defending champions, the St. Louis Blues.

Cole won his first two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017. In the last four seasons, he has played in 67 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He is currently in his second season with the Avalanche and is ready to see them bring home the Stanley Cup.

“I’m sure everyone is working hard to get back and I know guys are feeling better,” Cole said. “That’s going to be a very unique aspect of this particular year. You’re going to have every team at full health, for the most part. You’re going to see the healthiest playoffs the League has ever seen, which could lead to a pretty awesome product.”
