NHL AND NHLPA DISCUSSING PLAYOFF DECISION TODAY

Though the NHL announced their return-to-play plan on the 26th of May, there are still decisions to be made. The two hub cities have yet to be announced, as well as the exact dates for when the first playoff match will be played and the amount of games each round will consist of. However, one of those questions may get an answer this week.

According to Renaud Lavoie of TVASports, the NHL and the players association, the NHLPA, will have a meeting to decide whether each series will be five or seven games, and whether the playoff will be played in a normal bracket style or not. According to Lavoie, the talks are scheduled for today, but have been going on this whole week. If the parties can find an agreement swiftly, fans might be able to look forward to an answer on the exact playoff format as soon as this week.
