NIKITA NESTEROV MAY BE RETURNING TO THE NHL

According to reports circulating on Wednesday afternoon, Russian defenceman Nikita Nesterov will be leaving CSKA of the KHL and returning to the NHL.

Nesterov, 27, was last seen in the NHL during the 2016-17 season with the Montreal Canadiens. Prior to that he had spent time with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has played a total of 132 NHL games, posting nine goals and 33 points. Though he was rumoured earlier in the year to be considering returning to the Lightning, the reports now suggest he will be joining the L.A. Kings.

Nesterov has spent the last three seasons with CSKA. In 53 games this season, he scored seven goals and added 16 helpers. He also played for Russia during the 2018 Winter Olympics, scoring one goal in six games.
