JAROMIR JAGR LIKELY TO RETURN FOR ANOTHER SEASON

A few weeks back, there were rumours suggesting that the 2019-20 season may have been the last we saw from Jaromir Jagr as a professional hockey player. As of today however, it sounds like that may no longer be the case, as the ageless wonder may be joining a new team for the 2020-21 season.

Jagr, 48, has spent the past three seasons playing for Kladno in the Czech Republic. After spending the previous two seasons in the second highest professional league, they were promoted to the top division for the 2019-20 season. Unfortunately, they were not very successful this season and will yet again find themselves playing in the second division in 2020-21. Because of this, it sounded like Jagr may be done as he was not interested in playing in the second division.

According to reports today, it sounds like Jagr may be considering switching teams and joining HC Sparta Praha. The team, based in Prague, is in the top division which would allow him to continue to play the best level of hockey available in his home country. He certainly didn’t look out of place this past season, posting 14 goals and 29 points in 38 games.
