ASTROS EXERCISE BAKER'S 2021 OPTION

The Houston Astros announced they have exercised the option of Manager Dusty Baker for the 2021 season, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Baker was hired this past off-season to bring stability to a franchise reeling from their now-infamous cheating scandal. He has the Astros off to a 3-1 start in his first season as the team's skipper, a job that Baker has referred to as his "last hurrah".

The Astros are the 71-year-old's fifth team he has managed, collecting 1,866 total wins going into Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

In addition to Baker, the team also announced they are picking up the options of third-base coach Garry Pettis and pitching coach Brent Strom.
