BRUINS TO DISPLAY SUPPORT FOR BLACK COMMUNITY IN A UNIQUE WAY

As anyone who doesn't live under a rock is aware, the state of affairs in the United States has been nothing short of chaotic in 2020, with COVID-19 and #BlackLivesMatter remaining two of the main areas of focus south of the border.

On Tuesday, the Boston Bruins players issued a statement via Twitter that they intend to lock arms during both the Canadian and American National Anthems as a sign of support for the Black community.

The Bruins join other teams, such as the Maple Leafs - who wore "Black Lives Matter" shirts on the first day of training camp - to use their platform to show support for the Black community during these very trying times.

Though the NHL does not have a large contingent of Black players, the importance of displays of support from the likes of the Bruins and the Leafs cannot be understated. These types of acts go a long way in not only diversifying the sport, but also standing behind the few Black players with whom they share a locker room, a bench and an ice surface.

Class move by the Bruins, all the way!
