DUCKS SIGN SONNY MILANO TO TWO-YEAR EXTENSION

The Anaheim Ducks have agreed to terms with forward Sonny Milano on a two-year contract. The deal carries an average annual value of $1.7 million.

Milano, 24, was acquired by the Ducks in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this year. He had a strong showing in his short stint with his new team, putting up two goals and five points in 9 games. Prior to that, he had appeared in 46 games with the Blue Jackets, posting five goals and 18 points.

Milano was a former first-round pick (16th overall) of the Blue Jackets. To this point in his career, he has played in 125 regular season games, while managing 22 goals and 25 assists. He has also appeared in four postseason games, but has failed to register a point. He is very skilled, proven by his AHL point totals over the seasons, but has yet to put it all together at the NHL level.
